Set on 52 acres of land near Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the Fawcetts' ranch looks out over the Elk River valley and the Zirkel Wilderness mountains.  After purchasing the land in the early 1990's they built a log home, studio, and barn in 1996.  At 8200 ft. elevation there is an abundance of wildlife, views, and ranches to inspire any artist.  Local cowboys and riding buddies, as well as local landscapes, are often the subjects in John's paintings.
